Meike MK-EFTR-B Metal Auto-Focus Mount Lens Adapter with Control Ring Converter for EF/EF-S Lenses to EOS R and EOS RP R5 R5C R6 C70 Cameras

The Meike MK-EFTR-B Metal Auto-Focus Mount Lens Adapter with Control Ring Converter for EF/EF-S Lenses to EOS R and EOS RP R5 R5C R6 C70 Cameras has received mixed reviews from customers. While some customers have found the adapter to be effective, allowing them to use their EF and EF-S lenses with their new Canon cameras and providing a good fit and finish, others have raised concerns about the adapter's battery drain issue. One user found the adapter drained their camera's battery overnight, even when the camera was switched off. However, they managed the issue by removing the adapter when not in use and storing the camera without the battery attached. They also mentioned that the firmware update had not entirely resolved the battery drain problem. Others also reported the battery drain issue, with some sharing their frustration with the lack of clear instructions on how to update the firmware. One user provided a detailed guide to updating the firmware, which involved downloading the firmware files from the Meike website and running the installer program. They encountered an error during the update process but eventually resolved it after uninstalling and reinstalling the USB to serial driver. In addition to the battery drain problem, a customer mentioned that some of the screws on the adapter were not tightened properly, which they had to rectify themselves. They also expressed disappointment about the delay in receiving a refund for a separate adapter purchase. Despite the issues, some users expressed satisfaction with the adapter's performance, highlighting its capabilities in focusing, lens detection, and mounting firmness. They also appreciated its ability to work with different EF and EF-S lenses, as well as the application of the 1.6 crop for EF-S lenses.
