Features: Converts and removes light rust while heavy rust is transformed into a stable, workable substrate. Creates an ideal surface for filler or primer with minimal preparation required. Ready-to-use formula; does not require dilution or mixing before application. Easy-to-apply liquid form in a pint container for smaller repair jobs or touch-ups. Must be top coated; provides insoluble black coating when properly applied and fully dried. SEM Rust Mort 69508 is a professional-grade rust conversion treatment that transforms rust on ferrous metal into a stable black coating. Intended for use before filler, primer, or paint, it simplifies surface preparation for durable finishes. Q: How many coats are needed? A: Three to four thin coats are recommended, keeping the surface wet until rust is fully converted for best performance. Q: Do I need to sand before applying? A: Remove loose scale and excess rust first. Do NOT sand down to bare metal; Rust Mort is intended to convert rust. After treatment, excess material must be rinsed off and surface fully dried before overcoating. Q: Can filler or primer be used directly over treated surface? A: Yes. Once the treated surface is completely dry and free of residual Rust Mort, body filler or primer may be applied according to their respective preparation and adhesion guidelines.
