The Shelly Plus Wall Dimmer is a WiFi and Bluetooth-enabled smart wall dimmer relay that is compatible with Alexa and Google Home. However, the LED touch response was appreciated and toggle on depress instead of release was good. The dimmer is missing some features that every dimmer should have, including minimum and maximum brightness settings and energy monitoring. Some customers also complained that there was zero transition between states or an instant click when changing brightness levels or toggling the light. The dimmer can be used on Shelly's cloud or locally, and the ESP32 processor allows customization with third-party firmware. The dimmer's overall Construction and design look nice, and it is UL listed. The lack of inclusion in the Home Assistant Shelly Integration has been noted, but developers for Home Assistant have recently added support for this device. A ramp-up and ramp-down function in dimming is expected in the next firmware update. The Shelly Plus Wall Dimmer is an excellent entry into the smart home automation market, despite some of its drawbacks.
