Customer Questions & Answers

  • Question: What is included in Brent's Favorite Tenkara Kebari Combo?

Answer: Brent's Favorite Tenkara Kebari Combo includes a set of 24 expertly tied kebari flies designed specifically for Tenkara fishing. Each fly is selected based on seasonal effectiveness and proven performance in various water conditions. These flies are made from quality materials, ensuring durability and effectiveness. Whether you're targeting brook trout in small streams or larger fish in open waters, these kebari flies provide an effective solution for anglers looking to enhance their fishing experience.
  • Question: Are the kebari flies suitable for beginners?

Answer: Yes, the kebari flies included in this combo are suitable for beginners and seasoned anglers alike. Their simplistic design and effectiveness make them user-friendly, allowing newcomers to focus on technique without being overwhelmed by complex fly patterns. Perfect for those who want to dive into Tenkara fishing, this combo equips you with the necessary tools to start catching fish quickly, building confidence as you hone your skills.
  • Question: How should I store my Tenkara kebari flies?

Answer: To keep your Tenkara kebari flies in top condition, storing them in a dry, cool environment is essential. Consider using a fly box with compartments to prevent them from getting tangled or damaged. Additionally, keeping them separate from moisture will help maintain the materials and prevent rust on any hooks. By following these storage tips, you can ensure that your kebari flies are ready for use anytime you head out for fishing.
  • Question: What fishing scenarios are these kebari flies best suited for?

Answer: Brent's Favorite Tenkara Kebari Combo is versatile and effective in various fishing scenarios, especially in mountain streams and rivers where Tenkara excels. These kebari flies perform admirably in both fast and slow waters, mimicking the natural food sources of fish. Whether you are fishing on a summer afternoon or during a brisk autumn day, these flies can adapt to changing conditions, making them a reliable addition to your tackle box.
  • Question: Can I use these kebari flies in saltwater fishing?

Answer: The kebari flies included in this combo are primarily designed for freshwater fishing, particularly for Tenkara techniques targeting species like trout and grayling. While they may be used in some estuarine conditions, they are not specifically crafted for saltwater environments. For saltwater fishing, explore options that are specifically designed with materials resistant to corrosion and suitable for salt species.
  • Question: What size hooks are used for the kebari flies?

Answer: Brent's Favorite Tenkara Kebari Combo features hooks in various sizes tailored to attract different species of fish. Typically, the sizes range from smaller #12 to #16 hooks, which are effective for both smaller stream fish and larger river varieties. Using the right hook size plays a crucial role in ensuring that your presentation mimics the natural prey fish find in their environment, ultimately improving your fishing success.
  • Question: Are the kebari flies hand-tied?

Answer: Yes, all the kebari flies in Brent's Favorite Combo are hand-tied by skilled artisans, ensuring each fly meets high-quality standards. This craftsmanship is essential for the flies' durability and performance. Hand-tied kebari provide better movement in the water and can withstand the rigors of active fishing. When fishing with these flies, you can feel confident in their ability to attract attention from fish.
  • Question: What fishing techniques can I use with these kebari flies?

Answer: You can utilize a range of Tenkara fishing techniques with Brent's Favorite Kebari Combo. While classic techniques like 'dapping' (letting the fly drift naturally) are very effective, you can also experiment with short and long casts and varying retrieves. This versatility allows you to adjust your approach based on the water and the behavior of the fish, improving your chances of a successful catch.
  • Question: Is there a specific way to rig kebari flies for Tenkara?

Answer: To rig kebari flies for Tenkara, tie the fly to the end of your line using a simple knot like the improved clinch knot. Make sure to leave a few feet of line for effective casting and leader length. Adjust the depth by varying the length of line you let out; for shallow water, keep it shorter, and for deeper pools, let more line out. This simple setup allows your kebari to effectively mimic natural flying insects, thereby increasing your success on the water.
