Answer: I did not remove strap on mine although I thought of doing it. I did see in some of the reviews that at least one customer had removed the straps. Not sure how that worked out. I didn’t have the heart to start chopping straps off new shoes so I returned mine. -

Answer: Less than 3/4 of an inch at least. I don’t ever wear heels and they feel very comfortable. -

Answer: I am not sure which previous design you are referring to but the current design is very attractive and comfortable. The support seems the same. -

Answer: I think it helps with flat feet, I personally have flat feet and I think it helps with foot support a lot. The arch helps. -
