The Mr. Tuff MR-01 Rod Bender appears to be a versatile tool for bending steel rods and welding rods, but with limitations in regards to bending flat stocks, larger diameter brass rods, and larger metal pieces. It has been reported to work well with 3/16 and 1/4 in rod, as well as 1/4" pencil rod, and can bend 5/16" steel rod with a bit more effort. The tool may require some modifications, such as a sturdier vise, for more demanding projects. The added spacers allow for a variety of bend sizes. Some users reported issues with the pins falling out and some rust on the pins upon arrival. However, the low price, ease of use and good results make it a worthwhile purchase for many customers.
