What is the difference between plast aid 80100 and 80400? Will both patch leaks in PVC?
Answer: The 80400 does a fantastic job on PVC. -

Will it work on the plastic of an above ground pool skimmer?
Answer: I've used it on the pvc in pool plumbing with great success. Under high pressure as well. If the skimmer is the right kind of plastic it will do the job for sure. -
Question:
Can Plast-aid repair cracks in Lexan?
Answer: I am not sure. Follow instructions and test it. You can find out if Plast-aid® will stick to your broken plastic item with a simple test. Put one finger on the open top of the liquid bottle, tip it over and get a drop of Plast-aid® on your finger. Lightly rub the liquid on the area you want to repair. It's also a good idea to test on an inconspicuous spot consisting of the same type of material as the repair. Watch and see if the area becomes tacky to the touch. If so, Plast-aid® will work like a charm. -
Question:
Does it dry clear, and can it be used to seal a crack in an acrylic light cover?
Answer: It drys a light white color or you can mix a little colored paint in it for different colors. I would say yes that it will glue acrylic. I haven't found a glue I like better. -
Question:
Can this work with pool skimmer PVC crack underground? Do I have to empty the pipe from water or is it okay with water in there?
Answer: It worked great on my cracked inground skimmer. The skimmer must be dry to make the repair. I used acetone to thoroughly clean the areas to be patched and applied 3 coats of plastaid waiting an hour between each coat to make sure each coat fully cured. I waited another 24 hours before refilling the pool. That was 2 years ago and I've had no problems since. -
Question:
Will this stuff bond to wood? After it hardens can it be worked with wood tools (e.g., router)?
Answer: Absolutely not. -
Question:
Anyone fix a crack in the bottom of a Culligan water softener salt storage brine tank?
Answer: I have no idea if it will seal and hold. Only used on pool stairs, years later still okay. No pressure on it. I would contact the company if I were you. -
Question:
Can a liquid be purchased by itself? My brand new kit, bottle fell and broke!
Answer: I would surmise the liquid cannot be sold separately and is most likely proprietary. If I were in your shoes, I’d try acetone to see if this additive would work. Otherwise, the alternative is to contact the company. Good luck. -
Question:
Can plast aid be applied in layers once dried to add strength?
Answer: Yes, you can apply it in layers, but it still will not hold water pressure application(s); I was meticulous adding layers to no avail. Seriously, don't waste your time/money with this product! -
Question:
Will this work on cracked corner of Petmate dog crate?
Answer: Not sure about the dog crate, but it worked in some hairline cracks in our hot-tub!!
